You are welcome to enroll in this course even if you are not currently licensed — the course teaches the technique of eyebrow threading and is open to all skill levels. What your licence status determines is how and where you can legally practice on paying clients after completing the course. As of 2025, 20 US states completely exempt eyebrow threading from cosmetology licensing — meaning you can thread clients professionally without a licence in those states. In the remaining 30 states, a cosmetology or esthetics licence is required. Additionally, operating or owning a salon in any state requires compliance with that state's facility licensing, health department, and business regulations — separate from any personal service licence.
